To ensure you can fully enjoy the race weekend and stay focused on the track, here are some practical tips:
There's no need to worry about going hungry during the event. Nearly every grandstand is equipped with a food zone offering refreshments. You'll find various food and beverage options, including permanent bars and newly introduced food trucks that feature unique culinary offerings. While not every grandstand will have the complete range of food available across the circuit, each one will offer a variety of choices to suit different preferences.
You're allowed to bring personal quantities of food and drinks, such as a single bottle, sandwich, piece of fruit, or snack. For safety reasons, authorities may ask that bottles be brought without caps. Numerous food and drink outlets are conveniently located at the stands.
Be prepared to pay by credit card as cash may not be accepted.
Before heading to the circuit, make sure you have all the essential information saved on your phone, including tickets, maps, and details about your favourite riders. Especially on Sundays, the network at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit may become overloaded, making it difficult to load data or contact others. To avoid any issues, prearrange meeting times and locations with friends, just like in the days before cell phones.
Motorsport events can be very loud. While the noise is generally bearable in the standard grandstands, it's advisable to wear earplugs if you're seated closer to the track. If you're attending with children, ensure they have headphones to protect their ears.
In October, when the MotoGP Grand Prix takes place, Phillip Island experiences mild spring weather. Daytime temperatures range from 12°C (54°F) to 19°C (66°F), with cooler mornings and evenings. The month sees moderate rainfall, typically around 60-80 mm spread over 10-12 days. Winds are generally moderate, though they can be stronger along the coast. Expect about 6-8 hours of sunshine per day, with a mix of sunny and cloudy conditions. The sea temperature remains cool at approximately 15°C (59°F), making it brisk for swimming or surfing.
